Gramercy Typewriter Company
Brand Identy /Fall 25

Gramercy Typewriter Company is New York’s last typewriter shop, in business since 1932. They specialize in consultation, repair, and education. Since the 2010s, their sales have jumped 300–500%, with up to 60 machines sold a month. People still crave a piece of mechanical beauty.

This rebrand centers on letters, love letters to NYC, and the charm of a city icon. The identity uses mechanical spacing, a highlighting system, and signatures to bring warmth back into the work. The brand also introduces events where anyone can learn, type, and write a letter. This lets everyone take home a piece of Gramercy, along with its redesigned merch.

*Early look at the branding; the full project is under development.
